Bedfordshire Jigsaw Club
Our Story
Not a Jigsaw Club!
We provide access for local disabled memebers of the community to help them get out and about
We are a Club based in Flitwick providing social needs for people with disabilities.
We have been in existence for over 49 years and currently have over thirty members of all ages and all disabilities.
We meet once a fortnight at Flitwick village hall and provide a varied programme of entertainment, but also informative evenings that are of benefit to disabled people. We own three wheelchair adapted minibuses which we use to collect our members from their homes to bring them to our meetings and to take them home again.
We also use these vehicles to take our members on various outings including trips to garden centres and the pantomime at Christmas. All our volunteers are unpaid who give up their time freely to help make a difference to people who would otherwise be isolated in their own homes.
All our volunteers are unpaid who give up their time freely to help make a difference to people who would otherwise be isolated in their own homes. We currently do not receive any direct funding from central or local government to support our work, and therefore must organise various charity events to raise funds for the upkeep and eventual replacement of these vehicles and to help with the general running expenses of the Club.
